First version of course on Performance based seismic design

The 1st version of the online course on Performance based seismic design started on July 22, 2021. A total of 21 engineers from different Latin American countries (Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Chile) are participating and the instructors are the engineers David Ugalde (Ph.D.), Miguel Medalla (M.Eng, Ph.D. ©), Mario Lafontaine, and Rodrigo Astroza (M.Sc., Ph.D.). In this course, the following topics are discussed in detail:

  1. Introduction to the performance based seismic design (PBSD) approach
  2. Seismic hazard
  3. Non-linear modeling and analysis of structures
  4. Project on PBSD of reinforced concrete structures
  5. Project on PBSD of reinforced steel structures
  6. Seismic design of nonstructural components
  7. Loss analysis
