The international simposium “Construction, retrofit of srtuctures and earthquake engineeing” was organized by HILTI and the Chilean Cement and Concrete Institute (ICH). Andre Filiatrault, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Buffalo, John Silva, Senior Director Codes and Standards at Hilti North America, Tal Fenstein, PhD candidate at the Department of Civil and Envorimental Engineering of the University of California Berkeley, and Rodrigo Astroza, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Universidad de los Andes, discussed about the methods of analysis and design approaches of non-structural components and systems. More than 300 participant attended the webinar, including people from academia and industry from many Latin American countries.
